Wash your pillow cases weekly and your pillow protectors twice a month or as needed.

Cleaning Tips That Make Down Pillows Last

There are a number of practices you should follow when you clean down pillows. First and foremost you must read the cleaning instructions that came with your pillows. Our cleaning guidelines are the best practices that apply generally to pillows. Just remember to always check your particular pillow’s cleaning guide first.

We recommend that you wash your pillows in a front loading commercial washer with a mild degreasing detergent on the softest setting using cold water.

After the wash cycle is complete you must complete two additional rinse cycles to clean out all the detergent and two spin cycles to remove as much water as possible.

When the down is wet you’ll notice a pungent odor. This is normal, and a result of the natural down product.

Dry two pillows at a time using a commercial dryer on medium heat. Three hours is a normal dry time. Fluff your pillows periodically as they dry, every half an hour to twenty minutes, and drop in a couple tennis balls—enclosed in a sock—to help fluff as well.

You will know the pillow is completely dry when there are no more clumps—clumps indicate moisture.

Pillow Storage: Protecting Your Investment When Not in Use

Mildew is the major pillow killer when a down pillow is not in use. Wrap your pillows in a breathable bag—not plastic. Plastic bags trap moisture in the pillow and can cause the pillow to mildew or the down to begin decomposing.
